McMurry decided to publish Organic Chemistry: A Tenth Edition under an open license as a tribute to his son, Peter McMurry, who passed away from cystic fibrosis in December 2019.
- Introduction to Earth Science (2023)Introduction to Earth Science is a 530+ page open textbook designed to provide a comprehensive introduction to Earth Science that can be freely accessed online, read offline, printed, or purchased as a print-on-demand book. - ADAPT Homework SystemAdapt is an online homework system that exists within the LibreTexts platform. Instructors can create courses and assignments for students. Course shells for preparatory chemistry, general chemistry, analytical chemistry, and organic chemistry are available in the commons area.

- Beginning ChemistryThis introductory chemistry text is aimed for a single semester or quarter beginning experience to the field. The textmaps survey some of the basic topics of chemistry. This survey should give student enough knowledge to appreciate the impact of chemistry in everyday life and, if necessary, prepare student for additional instruction in chemistry.

We wanted to make sure that one region of the world was not the sole focus of this work.
