The content utilizes concepts promoting the development of clinical judgment by building upon the systematic model developed by the National Council of State Boards of Nursing (NCSBN).
OpenStax Maternal-Newborn Nursing
Maternal-Newborn Nursing introduces students to the concepts and skills related to pregnancy, birth, postpartum, newborn care, reproductive health, and social determinants related to those topics. OpenStax Nutrition for Nurses
Nutrition for Nurses is structured to support the flexible integration of nutrition content across both system-based and nursing competency-based curricula. It can be used whether nutrition is taught as a standalone course or part of another nursing course.

Pharmacology for Nurses is intended for nursing students in an introductory program. OpenStax Population Health for Nurses
Population Health for Nurses prepares nurses to develop interventions, policies, and practices that promote health equity and improved health outcomes across the health care delivery continuum. The text emphasizes the social determinants of health and how nurses can plan and implement health promotion and disease prevention interventions.
OpenStax Psychiatric-Mental Health Nursing
Psychiatric-Mental Health Nursing is designed to support a one-semester psychiatric-mental health nursing course offered at both two-year and four-year institutions. This learning resource integrates evidence-based practices with practical strategies for communication, readying students to build therapeutic relationships with patients and caregivers. OpenStax textbooks are peer-reviewed.

The Open RN™ project is funded by a $2.5 million dollar grant from the Department of Education to create five OER Nursing Textbooks with 25 associated Virtual Reality scenarios. Textbooks undergo national peer review by faculty, deans, industry members, and nursing students to ensure the content is accurate and relevant, written in clear language for pre-licensure nursing students, and based on current, evidence-based practices.

Open RN Nursing Pharmacology
This open access Nursing Pharmacology textbook is designed for entry-level undergraduate nursing students. It explains basic concepts of pharmacology and describes common medication classes. This book is not intended to be used as a drug reference book, but direct links are provided to DailyMed, which provides trustworthy information about marketed drugs in the United States. Updated according to the 2023 NCLEX-RN Test Plans; additional NCLEX Next Generation-style learning activities have been added to each chapter.
Open RN Nursing Management and Professional Concepts
This book introduces concepts related to nursing leadership and management, prioritization strategies, delegation and supervision, legal implications of nursing practice, ethical nursing practice, collaboration within the interprofessional team, health care economics, quality and evidence-based practice, advocacy, preparation for the RN role, and the avoidance of burnout with self-care. Content is based on the 2023 NCLEX-RN Test Plan.
Open RN Nursing Skills
This Open RN Nursing Skills OER textbook focuses on the development of evidence-based clinical skills and physical assessment across the life span routinely performed by entry-level nurses. Techniques related to obtaining a health history and basic physical assessment using a body systems approach are described and include sample skills checklists and instructor demonstration videos. This edition is updated according to the NCLEX-RN Test Plan; additional NCLEX Next Generation-style learning activities have been added to each chapter.
Open RN Nursing Advanced Skills
Content includes advanced skills for registered nurses, such as intravenous infusion, blood product administration, management of central lines and chest tube systems, basic electrocardiogram interpretation, and nasogastric/feeding tube insertion, and builds on basic nursing skills discussed in the Open RN Nursing Skills OER textbook. Content is based on the 2023 NCLEX-RN Test Plan. 43 skill demonstration videos are freely available on the Open RN YouTube channel.

Next Gen RN Project - Resources for using NCLEX Next Generation (NGN) practice
LibreTexts’ ADAPT software platform has been customized for nursing faculty to create NGN-style case studies and questions. Nursing instructors can request a personal ADAPT account to view these questions by going to LibreTexts ADAPT platform and clicking on “Contact Us.”

Individual NGN questions are also linked within the Open RN OER textbooks as formative assessments with immediate feedback provided to students.
