Berea City Resident Borrowers

How do Berea city residents obtain a library card?

Local residents may obtain a Hutchins Library borrowing card at the circulation desk with a valid form of identification and a current address. Children under 18 may obtain a card. There is no fee for the first card, a $2.00 replacement fee is charged for lost cards.

How long can Berea city residents check items out for?

For Berea city residents, books may be checked out for 21 days and media items for 7 days.

How much are Berea city residents charged for overdue, lost, or damaged items?

Replacement charges will be assessed for unreturned, lost, and significantly damaged items. If an undamaged item is returned after fees are incurred, fees for that item will be removed or refunded. Your account will be suspended until outstanding charges are resolved or undamaged items are returned.

Can Berea city residents renew items?

Most items can be renewed up to 3 times. You may renew eligible items online (https://bereacollege.account.worldcat.org/account/checkouts) as long as the item is not overdue. You may also renew your items in person at the Hutchins Library Circulation Desk with your library card.
