Student Borrowers

What do students use as a library card?

Your valid Berea College student ID will also be your library card.

How many items can students check out at one time?

Students may check out 25 items at one time, up to 5 of which may be media.

How much are students charged in fines for overdue, lost, or damaged items?

Replacement charges will be assessed for unreturned, lost, and significantly damaged items. If an undamaged item is returned after fees are incurred, fees for that item will be removed or refunded. Replacement costs for Interlibrary Loan materials are determined by the lending library. Outstanding item charges may result in a hold on your student account.

How do students renew items?

Most items may be renewed 3 times as long as they are not on hold for another patron. Renewals may be done online (https://bereacollege.account.worldcat.org/account/checkouts) if the item is not overdue.

How long can students check out items for?

For students, the loan period for books is 21 days. The loan period for media items (DVD, VHS, CD) is 7 days.
