Organizing Media
	- Create “events” BEFORE importing: "Broll," "Voiceover," "Images," "Music"
- In iMovie: Use "My Media" to see everything, create "Events" to organize
- This saves massive time during editing
Tip: Add colored backgrounds (Backgrounds button) between sections temporarily to visualize structure
Example Structure
	- Hook (15-20 seconds): Grab your Berea audience's attention with local imagery or relatable scenario
- Introduce yourself & theory (20-30 seconds): Brief, accessible language
- Explain theory components (60-90 seconds): Break it down simply—remember your audience!
- Present your artifact (45-60 seconds): Show and analyze the local example
- Practical application (45-60 seconds): "Here's how YOU can use this in YOUR life..."
- Conclusion (15-20 seconds): Recap and call-to-action
Audio Levels
Audio hierarchy for your video:
	- Voiceover/dialogue: 100% (most important)
- Background music: 10-20% (sets mood but shouldn't compete)
- Ambient sound/B-roll audio: 30-50% (adds texture)
Music selection tip: Choose music that matches your audience.
Saving an Editable Project File
This is CRITICAL: You'll receive feedback and need to make changes!
	- Your project auto-saves while working in iMovie
- But you need to back it up for safekeeping
Where iMovie stores projects:
	- Projects live in: iMovie Library (usually in Movies folder)
To save editable version:
	- File → Consolidate Project Media (ensures all files are together)
- Quit iMovie
- Find "iMovie Library" file in Movies folder
- Copy entire library to:

		- External hard drive (RECOMMENDED—bring to class)
- Cloud storage (Google Drive, Box—may be large file)

IMPORTANT: Don't just export MP4 and delete project! You'll need the editable version!
Exporting for Submission
	- Click share icon (box with upward arrow) in top-right corner
- Select "File"
Recommended export settings:
	- Resolution: 1080p (high quality, manageable file size)
- Quality: High or Best (for preliminary version use "High")
- Compress: Faster (for quicker export)
- Format: Should default to MP4 (most compatible)
- Name file clearly: "FirstnameLastname_Theory_Preliminary.mp4"
- Choose save location (Desktop or project folder)
- Click "Next" → "Save"
- Export time: Usually 1-2x your video length (3-4 min video = 5-10 min export)
