Archives Module 1: An Introduction to Hutchins Library

Library Hours

Hutchins Library seeks to serve students, faculty and staff, and community members, all of whom have different needs regarding operating hours. To this end, Hutchins is open during the work day and well into the night during the week and during special hours on the weekend. The regular hours are as follows:

Monday-Thursday: 7:45 am - 12:00 am
Friday: 7:45 am - 7:00pm
Saturday: 10:00 am - 6:00 pm
Sunday: 2:00 pm - 12:00 am

The hours may change for federal holidays (Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Memorial Day, etc.) or college events (Mountain Day, Labor Day, etc.). Please check the library's homepage for any special operating hours.


Please note that the library's hours change during finals week and the week before to allow students more access to our study areas and resources. Those hours are as follows:

Monday-Thursday: 7:00 am - 1:00 am
Friday: 7:00 am - 9:00 pm
Saturday: 10:00 am - 9:00 pm
Sunday: 12:00 pm - 1:00 am
 

Special Collections Reading Room Hours

Special Collections and Archives holds operating hours that differ from those of the main library. Although the department is staffed regularly between the hours of 8:00 am and 5:00 pm most days, there are special hours that patrons may visit the reading room to use our resources. These hours provide a variety of times for patrons to peruse our collections. Those hours are as follows:

Monday: 10:00 am - 4:30 pm
Tuesday: 12:00 pm - 8:00 pm
Wednesday: 12:00 pm - 8:00 pm
Thursday: 10:00 am - 4:30 pm
Friday: 10:00 am - 4:30 pm
Saturday and Sunday: Closed

The regular operating hours are subject to change in accordance with the main library's special hours (closure/limited hours for holidays). Please check the library's homepage or the Special Collections and Archives homepage for any special operating hours.
