Ajay KalraDeborah Thompson (January - February, 2006) focused on the ways race and gender are represented in Appalachian music, particularly in the context of such events as Berea's Celebration of Traditional Music. Deborah has a Ph.D. in Geography from the University of Kentucky and undergraduate and graduate degrees in Appalachian Studies. Deborah served as coordinator of the Berea College Celebration of Traditional Music in 2007, and currently serves as Coordinator of Country Dance Programs and General Studies instructor at Berea College.
