About the Digital Production Studio

THE DIGITAL PRODUCTION STUDIO WILL BE AVAILABLE TO CAMPUS BEGINNING IN OCTOBER 2025. 

The Hutchins Library Digital Production Studio is a state-of-the-art multimedia creation space designed to support the digital content needs of students, faculty, and staff. This dedicated studio provides professional-grade equipment and software for audio and video production, digital illustration, scanning and digitization projects, and podcast creation. Whether you're working on a class assignment, research project, or creative endeavor, the studio offers the tools and environment you need to bring your digital vision to life.

Equipment and Software

Production Workstation:

  • One fully equipped iMac workstation with professional audio/video editing software
  • Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere Pro, Audition, and more)
  • Audacity for audio editing and podcast production
  • Specialized software including Canva, Blender, Visual Studio Code, and Zotero

Audio/Video Equipment:

  • Complete lightboard studio setup with integrated green screen technology
  • Blue Yeti professional USB podcast microphone
  • Yamaha DGX500

Digitization Resources:

  • One Epson v600 high-resolution flatbed scanner for digitization projects

Studio Features:

  • Acoustically treated space with professional sound dampening (NOT soundproofing)
  • Dedicated workspace for collaborative projects

Access and Use Guidelines

The Digital Production Studio is available to all current Berea College students, faculty, and staff.

Reserving the Studio

  • Studio key available at the Circulation Desk during library hours on a first come, first serve basis
  • Valid Berea College ID required for key checkout

Studio Policies

  • Maximum session length: 2 hours (renewable based on availability)
  • Drinks permitted in covered containers only; no food is permitted
  • Equipment must remain in the studio at all times
  • Report any technical issues immediately to library staff

User Responsibilities:

  • Treat all equipment with care and respect
  • Clean workspace after each session
  • Log any problems or maintenance needs
