From accounts of twentieth-century activism and television representations, to experiences of YouTube and Twitter, Sobande's analysis traverses tensions between digital culture's communal, counter-cultural and commercial qualities. Citing his permissive mantra as its title, It's All Allowed includes new writing from leading scholars and artists, as well as writing by Howells himself, an extensive interview, scores, and visual materials, which together reveal new insight into Howells's groundbreaking process.

One Life, Two Cultures celebrates cultural diversity by collecting the experiences - both good and bad - of African and Caribbean Scots over the past 50 years. It establishes African and Caribbean peoples’ experiences as integral to Scottish and wider European society, bringing our voices to the forefront as our stories are told in our own words. The stories offer listeners new cultural perspectives, as well as providing the ability to connect through shared commonalities. These are the stories of real people; our lives are both ordinary and extraordinary at the same time. Our experiences are funny, sad, compelling, and relatable. Documenting these stories helps us to understand the richness and cultural diversity of Europe, while ensuring that these memories are not lost, but passed onto the next generation.
