The banjo, as we know, has roots in Africa. Banjo music has a lot of this history embedded in it. This program we will listen to some of the many Appalachian banjo players that have appeared at the Celebration of Traditional Music during the 1970s and 80s. Featured performers are Virgil Anderson, Doc Hopkins, Buell Kazee, Lily May Ledford, Boss Sewell, and Roscoe Holcomb.
